internship - description
I spent a little over 2 years in designcore where I completed a 3 month internship and a 2 year masters in Industrial Design.
The internship granted me the opportunity to work with clients on projects funded by Enterprise Ireland. During this time I drove projects from start to finish through research, concept generation and iteration, model making and final concept 3D printing.
Each stage was documented and presented to the clients in order to ensure we achieved the best possible outcomes.
Due to client confidentiality only certain parts of these projects can be showcased here.
MA RESEARCH
MA RESEARCh - description
My 2 year research masters in Industrial Design was funded by the Institute of Technology and supported by design lecturing staff.
This project title was;
‘Water Based Communities vs. Climate Change: A Community-Based Design Initiative for Open-Source, User-Centred Design’
This research aimed at providing a solution for vulnerable communities who experience the effects of flooding in Ireland. The project outcome resulted in an open-source solution for assisting members of the community to predict and monitor water levels before, during, and after a flood event in order to mitigate the effects of abnormally high water levels.
